Inspired by the sporadic nature of memory, Celeste is a romantic drama that explores one of the most common elements of the human experience—emotional loss. The film follows Thea as she recollects and revitalises Celeste, a person whom she has lost, through her memories. Alternating between memories and reality, Celeste explores the concept of duality, highlighted through the use of mise-en-scene and cinematographic techniques. The ambiguity of their relationship aims to emphasise the importance of these emotions rather than the importance of the object of their affections.
